It's That Time Of The Year: UX Audit

December 11, 2023

🧹Time to clean up! Review what worked and what didn’t during the past year, setting new goals and aligning ourselves and our business(es) towards them.

You know how around the end of the year we remember to do some health check-ups, declutter your home and even reflect by hitting reply on what happened in the past 12 months. Well, that should be present practice for your business as well. And this shouldn’t only include the changing of your copyright year in the footer by the way.

But if the UX audit in the title puzzled you and wonder what it is, and how can it help or impact your business? I am here to help you understand. 🤓 As a UX designer, I am honoured to educate people on the benefits of implementing good user experience practices in their digital products/services, while also strengthening their online presence, business objectives and even life.

In simple words, a User experience audit is a process of performing a “health check” on your digital product (website, mobile app or desktop application). The “health checks” can be focused on solving and pinpointing a specific usability problem or performing a general audit with improvement in mind. After the audit, the intentional actions that would be taken are the preparation and execution of a redesign plan.

Let’s put it in context and practice. 🤔 You are an owner of an e-commerce business but you have noticed some high bounce rate recently on your website and you want to find the root of the problem. That’s where you would probably start searching for a professional to look at your website inside and out.

Four eyes see more than two.

Depending on what package of service you negotiate they will have a look at your analytics, or marketing segmentation research done prior, perform different tests and create a comprehensive document for you consisting of the findings of the UX Audit and actionable suggestions on how to fix the problem and improve your website’s overall performance.

It’s important to remember that this UX audit is not only focused on your business objectives but has a high concentration on the user and their journeys and flows. Audits ensure users have an effortless time accessing your content, completing tasks, and finding information.

Not ready for UX Audit? That’s okay, maybe you can consider a UX/UI review. Check out my holiday offer for a UX/UI review here 👉🏽 UX/UI review by AND.
