How to maintain good friendships and connections? And why do they matter for your business?

“Women’s friendships are like a renewable source of power.” — Jane Fonda
Last year, I listened to a TED talk about friendships, where the speaker, Shasta Nelson, put the essence of a good friendship in a very simple formula that stuck with me. And yes, this story has been in my drafts for a while, just marinating.
These three ingredients create a great mixture, a strong foundation for any kind of relationship.
And here is why it matters for your business, too. To get someone to support you or your business, you need to show up consistently, you need to give something away, even if that’s just good energy and memes online.
But to connect with your audience and build deeper relationships, you need to be vulnerable. You need to show them that even under all that consistency, you are also human, struggling, doubting, having fears or uncertainties.
“The best time to make friends is before you need them.” — Ethel Barrymore
And as human’s we love a good story. We love a good hero-like character to check on.
You don’t need to have many business or non-business friends. Honestly, you just need a couple or one of each. But make sure they are true ones! Genuine.
Those friends will be there for you when it's tough, but also will celebrate every single minor thing you have going on for you!
“A best friend is like a four-leaf clover: hard to find and lucky to have.” — Irish Proverb

If you are lucky enough to find at least one person in your life to support you and your goals, you will be unstoppable. On those not-so-good days, all you need is your bestie to remind you what a bad b*tch you are and how you have done this before, and how it will get better, and how capable and awesome you are.
That’s all you need. Someone to believe in you when you don’t. To see you when you don't. To listen and reflect with you.
Seen, safe, satisfied. More on the topic in the video below:
